About Us

The Space Research Center of the Faculty of Electronics, Photonics and Microsystems of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology (SRC FEPM) was established on January 1, 2023, based on the Order of the Dean of the Faculty of Electronics, Photonics and Microsystems of the Wrocław University of Technology No. 15/2020-2024.

The Faculty of Electronics, Photonics and Microsystems is currently one of the largest faculties at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology. It has many specialized laboratories where the research towards space applications is conducted. There are many research projects on the subject of space. The great activity and competence of the Faculty is emphasized by the presence of several scientific circles focusing their activities on space issues.

The establishment of the Faculty Space Research Center is a natural consequence of the competences built over the years in the field of research in the space sector.

The goal of SRC FEPM is to conduct interdisciplinary research and development, along with educational, service, information, training and promotional activities in the leading scientific discipline of Automation, Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Space Technologies, with particular emphasis on the development of science and technology in the field of small and miniature space systems, using electronic, mechatronic, photonic and microsystem solutions, including those supported by IT tools.

The main tasks of SRC FEPM include integrating the scientific community with particular emphasis on activities supporting the development of the space sector in Poland and the European Community, and cooperation with other scientific units of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology, domestic and foreign research units external to the University, cooperation with industry, government administration and local government and other domestic and foreign entities.

SRC FEPM will undertake the organization and coordination of scientific and technical research for space technologies, including those of an industrial and service nature, financed from domestic and foreign funds.

The priority of SRC FEPM activity is to support students, PhD students and young scientists in their activities for the development of space technologies as part of individual and organized activities, as well as to promote and disseminate achievements in the area covered by the activity profile of SRC FEPM, including the organization of workshops, conferences and other forms supporting such dissemination.
